dbaTOOLS Version 13.1 is released with Unisys HMP 13.1. dbaTOOLS version 13.1 includes both dbaTOOLS/Analyzer and dbaTOOLS/Monitor. Version 13.1 now available for download.
dbaTOOLS Release 13.1 introduces automated database memory tuning. It tunes database memory usage based on the amount of memory on the system and the databases running on the system. It uses information from the AnalyzerDB snapshots to estimate database resource usage and assigns a percentage to each database. It then adjusts Allowedcore and buffer usage for the database to be tuned.
The proposed changes are displayed, and you can complete the changes during the process. Once you review the settings, dbaTOOLS Monitor can complete the changes, or you can specify that the changes be saved and performed later. Using this feature requires licenses for both the dbaTOOLS Monitor and dbaTOOLS Analyzer products.
The new Record Count feature in Enterprise Database Server for ClearPath MCP (DMSII) now provides totally accurate population reports. For structures in a DMSII database with the Recount Count Option set, dbaTOOLS Analyzer collects and reports the Record Count information. Once record count is enabled for a structure, an accurate population is maintained for the structure. dbaTOOLS Analyzer collects this data and reports it in the new Recount Count Population reports.
dbaTOOLS Analyzer keeps a list of all the databases that have snapshots in the AnalyzerDB. The list includes the following:
· Host name
· Usercode
· Database name
· Analyzer key status
· Date of the last snapshot
· Analyzer version on the MCP machine
· DMSII version
dbaTOOLS Monitor’s database monitoring and Remote Database Backup (RDB) statistics gathering are combined and integrated to provide the DBA a single view of all database-related activity.
