dbaTOOLS Version 12.1 is released with Unisys HMP 12.1. dbaTOOLS version 12.1 includes both dbaTOOLS/Analyzer and dbaTOOLS/Monitor. Version 12.1 now available for download.
The Maximum Level reports are added in Version 12.1. The Maximum Level Reports are used to warn of I/S sets that are close to exceeding the maximum number of levels. If the maximum number of levels is exceeded for a set, DMSII will fail with a system error. The maximum number of Levels is determined by the number of entries per table.
There is a formula in the DASDL manual which is used to calculate the maximum number of levels for a given number of entries per table. It is calculated by taking the minimum number of bits required to represent the number of entries per table and using the following formula 45 DIV (n+1) where n is the number of bits.
Also, User Finds has been added to the Dataset Logic I/O report. User Finds are the number finds done using the dataset directly.
Version 12.1 adds two new features to Monitor, Remote Database Backup (RDB) monitoring and Program Statistics Capture.
RDB monitoring provides the ability to use the normal features of Monitor with RDB libraries, to get information about RDB performance. All the normal features of Monitor can be used with an RDB source, such as Automatic Display Mode (ADM), Graphing and Alerts.
With DMSII HMP 12.1 it is now possible to get information about individual program use of a database. This version of Monitor provides the capability to capture this information to files. The files are in a comma delimited format that can be used with other products such as Microsoft Excel.
